Greetings everyone. Hope your 4th was a pleasant one. Happy times had by all. With the 4th now behind us it just draws an important date to me that much closer, July 11th, the date of my first book signing. I’m more nervous than anything else. I just hope I don’t disappoint.
To help with that I have a few goodies and surprises in stored. First of all, I will be passing out free bookmarks and copies of the first two chapters from my upcoming novel, The Guardians. Anyone can take one even if they do not buy a copy of The Story Teller.
The Story Teller is the book that will be on sale at Barnes and Noble at Deerbrook Mall in Humble, Texas. For the first 20 people to purchase a copy of The Story Teller I will give them a copy of Trials of Life for free. For the first 10 people to purchase a copy of The Story Teller a T-Shirt for The Guardians will be given away.
I will be signing books from 1pm to 7pm. However, from 2pm to 3pm I will have a special guest author with me. Her name is Dorlana Vann and she will be passing out bookmarks for her book Death, which includes Jaclyn’s Ghost and Passage to Mesentia, I can tell you that both stories are a GREAT read.
Enjoy the rest of the week and I look forward to seeing you on the 11th if you can make it. If not I will be posting pictures of the event on my website next week.

Recently the world lost a wonderful man. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was my uncle and I was blessed to know him, even for a short time.
Phil
You taught me so much,
More than you will ever know.
Your actions were louder than any words,
Your love for Jesus, heart, body, and soul.
We did not talk much,
But you always treated me kind.
My dear loving uncle,
You were a rare find.
So young and arreagant was I,
Thinking I knew what the Bible had to say.
You never tried to change me,
Telling me to stay true to the Lord everyday.
You led by example,
You practiced what you preached.
Your actions taught me so much,
You had plenty left to teach.
I say goodbye dear uncle,
You will truely be missed.
I am strong in my faith because of you.
May the Lord bless you with HIS gentle kiss.

When I seen this girl something hit me and hit me hard. I wanted to jump off that bus, pick her up and take her home with me but I was a teenager without a job, what good could I have done. I weeped for her, what good could I have done indeed.
The Girl
I see
A young girl staring at me.
She asks me with her eyes,
“Is there more for you and I?”
Leaning on an old wooden fence
In front of houses that looked broken and bent.
She hopes there’s more for her,
Like fine clothes and coats made of fur.
She wears a flower in her hair
To show she’s kind, gentle, and fair.
So she will keep staring until the time comes,
When she doesn’t have to live as a bum.

I wrote this right out of highschool, about a year. I graduated in 1996 and I wrote this on April 16, 1997. I actually dated my work for a few years.
I’m So Happy
I’m so happy,
I don’t know what to do.
I’ve never felt this way
And my happiness comes from you.
You make me smile,
And brighten my day.
I know I can find comfort,
In the wonderful things you say.
I’m so happy,
I can’t believe it’s real.
Someone actually cares,
About the way I feel.
There’s really nothing I could say,
To make you see,
Just how happy
You make me.

Like I said, I found a book I made of all the poems I wrote back in high school so here it goes, try not to laugh to hard at my dorkness.
What I've Found
Everyone’s looking for someone to love,
Someone they can call their own.
And I, for one, have had enough
Of being on my own.
That being the case,
I have a promise to make.
As I look into your beautiful face,
My heart is yours for you to take.
I will always be true,
And never cheat,
Because I love you
Cause you’re so sweet.
People spend their whole lives
Searching for what I’ve found.
Even husbands and wives
Don’t have a love with its feet on the ground.
What I’m trying to say
And sometimes its hard to do,
Is don’t ever go away
Because I love you.
